Proven Solutions
Dual-Mode HVAC System Development for a Russian RV Manufacturer
Challenge:
A Russian motorhome manufacturer required a parking air conditioning system capable of both cooling and heating to operate reliably in extreme cold climates. Additionally, the system needed enhanced vibration isolation to withstand rough terrain encountered by off-road RV users.
Solution:
Our engineering network collaborated with the client’s technical team to redesign the original single-mode cooling compressor system into a dual-mode (heating & cooling) unit. We integrated a reverse-cycle heating module and developed a customized vibration-damping mounting bracket using high-strength rubber isolators. The system was tested under simulated -30°C conditions and validated for off-road shock resistance.
Result:
Successfully delivered a dual-mode HVAC solution that extended the operating temperature range from -30°C to +45°C. Custom Portable Outdoor Air Conditioner for a US Outdoor Gear Brand
Challenge:
During a Shanghai HVAC exhibition, we connected with a US-based outdoor gear brand seeking a portable air conditioning solution for camping and outdoor activities. The client required a compact, lightweight unit capable of operating on both AC and DC power, with rugged durability for harsh outdoor environments. After conducting user research with the client’s target audience, we identified a critical additional need: off-grid power capability for remote camping locations. No existing product on the market met all these requirements.
Solution:
Our engineering network conducted a feasibility study and developed a customized portable AC unit with a high-efficiency micro-compressor, integrated lithium battery, and a weather-resistant casing. To address the off-grid need, we integrated a foldable high-efficiency solar panel that charges the unit’s battery during daylight hours. We sourced specialized components from our vetted supplier network, managed the prototyping process, and conducted rigorous performance testing including drop tests, thermal cycling, IPX4 water resistance, and solar charging efficiency validation.
Result:
Successfully delivered a functional prototype within 60 days, with a cooling capacity of 2,500 BTU and a weight of under 9 kg. The integrated solar panel extended off-grid operation by up to 4 hours. The client approved the design for mass production, and we are now managing the full supply chain for their initial production run.
